I used Orbitz.com to book a rental car. On the website you choose a car type and the price is shown. I chose a luxury car and was happy with the price. The description of the type of car that would be was Cadillac Deville, Lincoln Towncar or similar. I feel that what I received was not similar and was not a luxury car but a premium car.
I didnt find out the make I was to receive until the time I picked the car up. I was given a Chrysler 300C which is not comparable in size or price to these other cars. I even got ahold of a customer service agent at the corporate level who admitted it was a premium car and not luxury.
So as it turned out I didn't get a deal at all.in fact the price I paid was high for a premium car at that time. The CSR I talked to told me he would take care of me but now refuses my calls. This was a scam in my opinion and I wonder how often this happens.
The agent here in Milwaukee told me the car is luxurious but I did not pay for a luxurious car. I paid for a luxury car which has a specific meaning in the car rental business. I'm sure a Nissan Elantra could be luxurious but is not a luxury car and not comparable to a Cadillac or Lincoln.
