Jack's Auto Repair
Ripoff, didn't fix what they said they did and charged FULL price, then fixed the wrong thing that didn't need fixing

I'm a 36 year old single mother and on October 22, I had brought my car in to Lane's automotive in Euless, Texas, to investigate an oil leak that I had under my car. Dean Lane (the owner of Lan'e automotive informed me that I needed a new timing cover chain gasket and quoted me around $700.00 to do the repair.

At that point, I thought I'd do a price comparison, so I called Jack (the owner of Jack's automotive in Hurst, Texas). Jack quoted me between roughly around $500.00 to do the same repair, so of course to save money, I took my car to Jack's.

When I picked up my car, he only charged me a little over $300.00, I was quite excited to say the least that Jack could save me this much money, as I am a single parent of a 2 1/2 year old and am struggling to keep ends financially met anyhow!

So, when I picked up my car from Jack (AFTER he SAID he fixed it!), I noticed that the oil was STILL leaking under my car. So I called Jack that following Monday and told him about the leak, he then rorted that there was no leak when he finished it on that Friday. BUT THERE WAS STILL OIL LEAKING UNDER MY CAR!

I called and called and waited and waited to bring my car to Jack to "re-fix"! The reason why I waited was because Jack said he was always short on help and just didn't have any mehcanic there to help take a look at tmy car to re-fix.

Well, this went on for several months, I brought my car back to Jack a couple of times, and he kept on saying that he fixed my oil leak, and then he even told me that I had a new oil leak in the same place!!! I knew this wasn't true! I needed new brakes the first part of May and so when Jack had my car in his shop to _re-re-look at my oil leak, I had asked him how much brakes would cost, because getting my car into the reapir shoppe has always been extremely difficult for me because I need to make special arrangments for my son to be picked up from his daycare by 6:00 P.M. And then also myslef get a ride to the auto repair place and then not to mention get a ride to and from my work and my son's daycare in the mornings while my car is in the shoppe.

So, I just told Jack to go ahead and put new brakes on while he had it in the shop this past time to re-re-look at my "supposedly alreayd repaired" oil leak! Well, Jack "said" he fixed my brakes and re-surfaced the rotors, and all that comes with putting on new brakes, so $230.00 later, I thought I'd just bring my car to a little auto place near by where I work during my lunch today, of which I learned from that mechanic that my rotors were not recently turned whatsoever and my brakes are under specs, he said there is no way that my brakes were fixed just two weeks ago!

I called Jack and he denied everything, saying that he fixed everything properly. I asked him if he would fax me a copy of all the work done, he said he would do it immediatley... That was two hours ago. And I still don't have any fax from him! Matter of fact back in June 6 I know for a fact (I still have the work order for it) I had a new oil pan put on my car from the dealership at Grubbs Nissan in Bedford, TX... And I've learned that Jack put a oil pan on my car back in October! I did NOT need a new oil pan!

Jack has ripped me off and I do not know what to do, can you PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE help me in in getting my money back or things done correctly?

It's just not right, what he's doing!
