I am a college student. My car broke down my transmission went out. I took my car to Cottman Transmission on October 16. I did not recieve my car until December 12. When I got my car it was not shifting right. The guy said the values were just sticking put some kind of fluid in the transmission asnd said it would be okay.
I drove it to Mobile, Alabama and it started to do the same thing it did when I took it to them the first time. I took it to a Cottman in Mobile they kept my car for about three weeks. Got back to Tallahassee, my car was still not driving right. I took it to the Cottman in Tallahassee, they told me they looked at it and there was nothing wrong with it.
I went back to Mobile for the summer and the transmission completely went out on me, my car would not even move. The transmission was licking fluid. The towed and fixed it in about one week. Then it was time to go back to school I did not feel comfortable with me car and I took it to the shop and Mobile and told them the problem. They said nothingwas wrong with my car.
So I drove it to Tallahassee going over my warranty and then 2 weeks later my transmission went completely out. There I am in college by myself with no car. I took it to them and told them what happened. The first response was you still owes us money. I pulled out my receipts and proved them wrong. Then the reponse was you went over your warranty we can not help you. The best we can do is have you refer some people to us and if they get work done you will get a discount.
I told him I could not afford to pay to have my transmission rebuilt again when it broke down in less than a year. I told him how I was living off of 15 dollars a month to pay them. If you want ot know how, lots of Ramen Noodles. All he said was sorry there is nothing I can do. The best they said they could do is repasir it for $2,000.
My first cost was $2308.19. If you want to question them about it I am repair order# 007698.in conclusion do not go to Cottman transmission anywhere I got messed over by two different store. They did tell me that if the Tallahassee store did not authorize the repair the mobile store would not be able to fix my car, what kind of Nationwide Warranty is that.
