I love Groupon and LivingSocial type deals - I think its fun to try new things and maybe get a great deal. The problem I see with LivingSocial.com is that I don't believe they do any due dilligence when it comes to what businesses they partner with and promote on their site! This became apparent to me when I purchased a brazilian wax from a salon and ended up having to ask for a refund when I arrived at this stinky dirty awful salon, was lied to about the "Licensed Aestetician" having ever even performed the service before, was left on the chair half undressed WITH THE DOOR OPEN while the employee went to consult with the manager regarding how to do the job then was told that I would not be getting a refund even though I didn't receive the service. Not only did the salon not make it right - but when I requested a refund from LivingSocial.com no one even bothered to get back to me! Basically, LivingSocial advertised a disgusting salon and I bought a service that the salon doesn't even do and now I'm out $30. Doesn't seem right to me. I'm incredibly disappointed that LivingSocial first didn't do their fact checking to make sure their clients weren't mislead and then did nothing to make it right when I got ripped off. Its a gamble when you purchase one of their deals without prior knowledge of the business however it could be a lot LESS risky if LivingSocial did a little investigation before promoting shady businesses and false ads.
