We're from out of country so we did our research by web first.
Calling. Not worth the trouble. They're not into selling over the phone. Not a negative. Just a fact.
Website. Excellent presentation. Truthful and factual
Premise. These people sell a ton of cars. Didn't expect to see a half dozen people sitting in an office all buying cars at the same time.
Salesrep. Pleasant and efficient. Uses the web, same as we do, to find a car for you. She said she couldn't find the unit when we gave her the number. I looked and I thought I saw it. Bought it. Turns out it wasn't the one I wanted but was so close, you couldn't tell the difference. Later that day, we found the unit we wanted to buy online. I guess she typed in the wrong number.
Selection. Unbelievable. Had I known this, we would have marked down a few cars to choose from. Next time, we'll just go there and kick tires for a couple of hours. All cars we saw were in excellent condition. Clean. Even the smoker's cars smelled OK.
Preparation. I dont think they check mechanical. I think they just clean the cars, period.
Financing. Dont know. Paid cash.
Purchase experience. One hour from the time we arrived until we drove off with new car. 30 minutes to do check it out and do paperwork. Then went to lunch while they prepped vehicle. Came back and took 10 minutes to sign everything and pay.
Insurance. Being foreigners, we had no experience with US insurers. Sales rep said we needed insurance to drive it away. We went online to progressive.com. Paid by credit card and printed out the proof of insurance document.
Price. At least $2K less than competitive units when we searched online. But price wasn't the deciding factor. Selection was. This is where we found the exact car we were looking for.
Truthfulness. No effort to deceive anywhere along the way.
Bottom line. This is the Publix equivalent of the auto business. It's a supermarket. Huge selection of late model cars in showroom condition. If that's what you want, that's what you get.
