We bought a 2003 Camry from Dayton Ericson in Des Moines selling on behalf of his father's business in Cedar Falls, IA (Ericson Automotive). We were told the car had 143,380 miles on it, and Dayton signed a statement saying this was true.
We have put very few miles on this car since we bought it less than 6 months ago. A few days ago, my head gasket blew and now I need a new engine (a repair that will cost almost as much as the car did). When we took it to a different shop to have it looked at, we were informed that the engine was not the original, but a salvaged engine with who knows how many miles on it. We were NOT informed of this when we bought the car, therefore the mileage is incorrect.
When we called Ericson Automotive to see if they would help remedy the situation, Chuck Ericson told us not only that he wouldn't do anything about it, but also called us ignorant.
