Key to Lexis Light scooter - key for easy travel scoote

I called to order a key for my scooter which was lost. They informed me that it is 50 dollars to replace the key assembly and 10 dollars to ship. I can't afford it and I can;t install it. Why do you no longer have keys. My scooter is no good without it.
