I leased a car using Chase Auto Finance. At the lease end Chase sent 3 men to pick up the car from my house. They came to my house, looked over the car and told me no damages were present. They left with my car and drove it 400 miles to the appraiser that Chase uses (Manheim's Florida).
About a month later I received a letter from Chase along with a condition report from Manheim's Florida stating that every part of my car had damage. After I looked over the report I noticed that the car listed was the wrong car. It did have my vin #, but the description of the car was completely wrong.
It said the car has a sunroof (It doesn't), It said the car has leather interior (it doesn't), it said the car has sport wheels (it doesn't)... Etc. So, I sent a letter to Chase to contest the condition report, and I never heard anything back from them.
Then I received another bill today. So, I called them AGAIN and they told me that unless I have pictures of my car proving otherwise there's nothing they can do about it.
I told them if I had known they were going to try to screw me over I would have taken pictures before the car left my house. Anyway, they said they are sending my file to a collection agency.
They are only trying to get $260.00 from me, but that's not the point. It's the principal. I told them I will sue them for slander of credit, and they told me to go ahead and try and good luck with that.
I'm at my wits end with them. They're rude, dishonest, misleading and most of all they're running a HUGE SCAM which they are getting away with.
They've probably done this to countless other victims who leased cars through them.
I refuse to pay them one red cent. They will not get away with it this time. I'd rather pay an attorney thousands than pay them a penny.
