City Auto Brokers
Mislead

On 7-22-11 around 1:00 pm I was taken to City Auto Brokers in Marietta, Georgia to look for a used vehicle. When I arrived I was shown a 2005 PT Cruiser and was told that this was all they had to offer. I was directed into the office and sat down with the first sales person. When I began to ask questions about the vehicle the sales person became frustrated and sent me to another sales person who was Mr. W. Cheeseman. Who inturn tried to distract me by asking me about religion which had nothing to do with the vehicle. I stated I do not discuss religion and/or politics.

I ask about a carfax on the vehicle and was told they did not provide one nor did they have to. I was taken to the vehicle which would not start because the battery was totally dead. It took about 30 minutes to get it started and then I was told to take the car and drive it. When I did the car was shaking and I was told the wheels were warped and to take it to a tire place on Austell road in Austell, Ga. And bring it back on 7-23-11 because the paper work on the car was not complete. I am still asking for a copy of a carfax on the vehicle and was told again that they do not provide that information.

I took the car to the tire company that was owned by a Mr. Charles Ehine who is the owner of DDS Tire & Wheels. I went back on 7-23-11 and was then taken to Auto Finance Co. To get approval on the loan not knowing that City Auto was charging me a 28% finance charge to purchase for 42 months. After Mr. Fred James looked over the outside of the vehicle he ok'ed the loan and I explained to him that I still wanted a carfax. He stated I had that right and if there was anything wrong they would be happy to let the used car dealership buy back the loan.

I was taken back to City Auto Brokers and ask about the carfax again while trying to read the contract. Mr. William K. Cheeseman printed out a carfax for me after I signed the contract and when I read it I stated I did not want the vehicle due to the negative information on the carfax form. He informed me to speak to the owner Mr. Mike Hoge upon which I and the body mechanic did on 7-25-11 around 4:45 pm and Mr. Hoge stated that he would consider buying back the loan if the finance company agreed that the car had body damage and a diagnostic was provided by an authorized auto body mechanic and that he had to go to an appointment. And after he heard from the Auto Finance Company he would consider buying back the loan. I provided the information to the Auto Finance Company Mr. Fred James on 7-25-11 who faxed it over to their Corporate Office to Mr. James Millian who I spoke to on 7-26-11 and he stated that It was up to Mr. Hoge to buy back the loan. I contacted Mr. Hoge on 7-27-11 at 3:45 pm and he said that because I drove the car home he was not going to buy back the loan.

I am very disappointed in this whole ordeal which was totally unprofessional due to the way it was handled and the fact that they provided me the carfax after the Finance Company apporoved the loan. All I ask is to be released from the loan upon which I can not afford and have my deposit of $700.00 returned to me upon which their sales people added another $100 onto the contract as the total down payment. I guess so the loan would go through. I know I am not the first nor will I be the last to experience this unacceptable action. Please help me! (Please note: the Contract date is 7-21-11 upon which it was not even approved by the Auto Finance Company until 7-22-11). I will be calling action news and have them investigated as well.
