Cartersville Hyundai Bait and Switch - Will Not Honor THEIR OWN Written Quote - Buyer Beware!

I was provided a written quote via email that was not honored by the dealership when I attempted purchase the vehicle.

On Wednesday July 6 I was provided an email quote by Tony Civilla
for a 2011 Santa Fe SE with the Premium Accessory Package. When
confirming the quote I was told he had made a mistake and that he was
sorry he had wasted my time. He stated he did not know the vehicle had
the premium package on it. I told him I understood and asked him what
they would sell the vehicle for knowing now it had the Premium Package
on it. Tony emailed me a corrected quote and I was told this was a
"special price provided by his boss because he'd made a mistake on the
first quote".

Tony contacted me again on Thursday July 7 and told
me another customer was looking at this vehicle for the SAME PRICE and
that he needed to know what I was going to do. I told him that it would
be Saturday before I could get there and I still needed to discuss it
with my wife. Minutes later I received an email stating that he car had
been sold.

I received another phone call from a different salesman
(David) on the morning of Saturday, July 9 and was told they "had a
selection of Santa Fe's that I wouldn't believe" so my wife and I
visited their dealership that afternoon. David actually met us as we
exited our vehicle and when we went to look at their Santa Fe models we
found the car was still on the lot. I told David what had happened and
that I would not deal with Tony. I had the printed quote in-hand and
David told me would honor the quote I'd been provided and that I
wouldn't have to work with the salesman that lied to me about the car
being sold, Tony Civilla.

We took a test drive then went inside to purchase the vehicle. When we
sat down to do the paperwork the David took the WRITTEN quote whom
he referred to as the general manager. If that was the case, this would
be John Kuniskis. David came back with a price of over $500.00 more than
I had been quoted and said his boss said I'd misread the quote.
When I showed David on the emailed quote what the drive out price was
supposed to be and the specific line where Tony
wrote "this is the driveout price. You are receiving over $3000.00 in
extras for $473.00 more than the price originally quoted by the other
dealer".

David agreed that I was reading the message correctly and went
back to talk to whomever was making the decision. After several minutes,
David came back and told us that they would not sell me the vehicle for
that price even though I had it in writing. We left the dealership
calmly and without making a fuss. Whomever David was speaking with would
not come out and face us directly. Clearly, this dealership did what
they had to do to get me into their dealership then pulled a bait and
switch on me with their written quote.
