I was stupid enough to fall for the Automax recruiting scam. My story is a little different though. During the interview I explained that I had been convicted of a felony over 9 yrs prior and was concerned. I was assured it wouldn't be a problem by Gregg Morris.
To make a long story short, I approached several auto dealers on my own. The very first one told me he didn't think it would be possible for me to obtain the necessary state sales license REQUIRED in Colorado to sell cars. After repeated attempts at e-mails and phone calls to Gregg Morris went unanswered, I contacted the Department Of Revenue myself. I was told that the conviction would need to be more than 10 years old before I could receive a license.
Not sure I could have expected him to know that, but a legitimate business man and a legitimate company as Automax claims to be should have returned an e-mail or call. I couldn't afford to lose the money I did due to fact I haven't worked in 2 1/2 yrs.
Hope this helps someone make a more informed choice if your situation is anything similar.
To end on a more positive note, I did just find another dealer who thought I was worth waiting for even if it took another 6 or 8 months.
