I bought a 300ZX from Fun Rides in Kearny Mesa with a $2,000.00 down payment, The car broke down on the freeway 4 days later. Chris Smith had the car towed then repaired at a shop which is not authorized by the State of California to repair cars. When the car was being repaired I got the run around from Chris, he said the car would be ready in a week, then 2 weeks, then 3 weeks, then a month.in the meanwhile I'm missing work and missing school.
Over a month and exhausted by the run around I finally picked the car up from the repair shop and asked the manager if Fun Rides paid for the repairs and he said yes, but that I still needed a battery. So I bought a battery, had the car washed and filled up the gas tank with 92 octane.
The next day Chris Smith called me at work and told me I needed to come in and sign a new contract with a new lender. When I got to Fun Rides an unknown vechile parked directly behind me and blocked my exit. Chris Smith told me that I would have to pay for all the repair cost which so happened to be the exact amount of my downpayment of $2,000.00
I told him that I never agreed to pay for the repairs and that I didn't have any more money. He asked me to hand over the keys and I told him to handover my $2,000.00, which was hard earned money for me. He the said "I can't do that" so I was forced to leave Fun Rides of Kearny Mesa with no car, no downpayment and no way to get back to work. I was screwed!
