Rip-off alert!!! Subject matter: EMPIRE MOBILE MECHANIC/SHAYNE SMITH
There are mobile mechanics posting ads on Craigslist hoping to gain new business. I'm truly a fan of the guy's who keep the trade legitimate and honest. Shayne Smith is roughly 20-24 years of age. The guy operates out of a fully equipped shop on wheels. Anything good in the wrong hands can be FATAL. You will suffer finacially when this guy is called. If you were to Google Empire Mobile Mechanic, you'll find Rip Off reports from other disappointed customers including friends of Shayne. This info came too little too late for me.in his Craigslist ad, Shayne claims to be licensed and bonded. (He never produced the papers). And also claims to fix or repair all makes and models. NOT AT ALL TRUE!!!
If you are dealing with this guy, STOP NOW! Call someone different. You will have to call another mechanic or shop to undo his mess. My $600 job turned into $1,800. I had to get someone to start all over. The job starts nicely. Then he asks for a deposit to get whatever is needed to complete the job. Don't be fooled, he uses old and recycled replacement parts. Somewhere in the middle, Shayne and his helper is lost and clueless about what they have going on. After the Empire Mobile Mechanic and his helper screws up your transmission and engine, etc, he stops ALL communication. Now your work isn't done and your money is gone. After talking to a few mechanics about finishing the job he started, negative responses is what I got after the mere mention of his name. I wouldn't consider the guy for a simple oil change, you might not get a new filter. This is no B.S. There are really angry people looking for Shayne. I didnt understand why he looked over his shoulder so much. Or, why Shayne looked nervous and showed up at different times of night. I found these people by accident while trying to find his real home address. Sadly, two of the guys were his friends in high school. If he would screw a friend, what wouldn't Shayne do to you? Don't bring Shaynes negativity and lack of experince to your home.
