They rent unsafe vehicles. I had to exchange 2 vehicles, one the breaks were bad and tires were bald. The second the battery died, the had to jump me. Which I understand that happens. Day later the car wouldn't start, they gave me a another car. I also just filed the car with gas and got one with a 1/4 tank! I drove it after work the next day to drop off a movie (10 miles round trip) parked it and it started smoking. A neighbor said your cars on fire! Called them, they said don't worry about it, it's oil from an oil change. I told them I would be returning with the vehicle to check. They wouldn't even send someone to check the vehicle. I walked in the office and the owner threw a set of car keys at me and said just take that one. I gave him the string that was used to open the car door (because it was broke) and he said " thats the only thing wrong with that car." I said excuse me are you calling me a liar? He said just take that car a least you can drive that one. All these cars have been in automobile accidents. 95% of them would not pass a safety inspection. I would like someone to see if any of these vehicles get inspected. I believe this would make a good public news investigation about travelers short term and long term. How safe are these cars we rent. Is it just on the islands were the owners feel they can take a persons money and not give them any respect or make them safe! Why because I'm a woman, I don't know how to drive!
