I purchased a vehicle (1995 Ford Ranger XL) from J.D. Byrider on 11/24/03 for the purchase price of $7900. Subsequent research showed that the BEST Blue Book value of this vehicle with its current mileage, physical condition, and options is $4900. Thus I was overcharged $3000 over book value.
Additionally, I was financed at 24.9 interest. Which I was told was standard and unchangeable for all first time customers.
Additionally, J.D. Byrider advertises and asserted to me that the vehicle had been through a rigorous 25 point inspection. Since purchasing the vehicle. I have had to have repairs on the brakes done (in first 15 days) and have recurring electrical problems (that should have been detected in the inspection) that they have stated to have repaired and have since recurred.
