Drive Time
Screwed me until i was out of warranty

I purchased a used car ('97 Nissan Altima) from Drive Time on 7/2/03 (Managers: Jim and Mark). Three days later, my head lights and interior lights went out, while I was driving and I noticed a squeking coming from the brakes.

I notified Drive Time on 7/5/03 and they said to bring it to their mechanic on the following Monday between 8-5, which I couldn't since I work in Tampa from 7-4. So after numerous complaints to the manager, we set up a date in which I had to miss work, 7/23/03. Coincedently, the day prior to that, my car breaks down and overheats. Drive Time agrees (Mark, manager at the time) sends a tow truck out to my house to pick up the vehicle.

I explain to Mark how the brakes squeal, the lights, overheating etc. He agrees to fix. Three days go by, and finally, the car is fixed. He tells me they fixed a thermostat, and couldnt get around to the brakes. I ask for paperwork stating the repairs, and Jim states "You don't need it, we shouldnt be fixing this anyways."

Two weeks pass and I find myself at 6:45 am broken down on the side of McMullen booth road. Reason: Overheated.

So I walk 2 miles to get water, walk back, drive the car back to Drive Time and Mark no longer works there, and there is a new guy, his name is Jake. He apologizes, says "A full scale check will be done."

Two days go by, and my car is ready for pick up. Still, brakes never touched, but not overheating... Jake states it was a 'rare' radiator hose. So I get the car back, and again, it continues to ride hot, but not over heat.

I call Corporate Office and speak to a rep there, who forwards me to his boss, her name was Sandy, who, suprisingly, doesnt work there no longer. She says I must get the car in to be checked out, but it has to be within their hours 8-5 which was impossible. So I take my car elsewhere to have them fix a leaking radiator hose.

So this brings us to now. On 12/22/03 my car breaks down again. I cal Drive Time, and they agree to tow the car, and diagnose the problem.

By this time, i've grown leary of this place, so i decide to write down the mileage of my car before they fix it. After I pick it up, I notice the oddometer has only changed 1/2 of a mile and the dust on my wheel caps indicate they never looked at the brakes.

So I confront Jim about it, who calls me a liar, and says "I'm sure my mechanic drove it" "We fixed the water pump and a hose."

Aggrivated, I leave and drive the car home, then to work (a total of about 40 miles.) The car blows up again. I call Jim who tells me to bring it in first thing in the morning which I couldn't.

I left the car in Tampa at my job over the holiday weekend, and went to pick it up on Sunday. I let the car cool down, I worked the day, filled it with water, and got it back to Port Richey where another explosion happens. I open my hood and the hose that was supposedly just replaced split entirely up the middle. My car is now broken down at a gas station, waiting for Drive Time to pick it up.

My arguement is that Drive Time sold me a lemon. This is the 4th time my car has overheated, and they have neglected the brake issue from day one, wating for my warranty to run out. I would think the state of Florida would consider this a Lemon Act Lawsuit!!! Please someone help!!!
