I have a Honday Odyssey and am the original owner. We recently went to the dealer where we both purchased and serviced it to trade it in. When they ran the Carfax report as standard procedure to help establish the value of the vehicle, they explained that they weren't interested in it because it had been in an accident and airbags were deployed. I purchased this van new, am the original owner and only driver. This vehicle has never been any any accident and the airbags certaintly have never deployed. The service department knows me well, technicians took a look and verified that the airbags had never deployed in my vehicle. They suggested that I contact Carfax to have the report corrected. We have been trying to get the information corrected with Carfax; however, they don't have a customer service phone number... Unbelievable! All inquiries must be submitted through e-mail/fax. We've been working it it for over a week and haven't received a response yet from them. We have since purchased another car, but have been unable to use our Odyssey trade in as money to put down because each person that has run the Carfax has received this report. I don't dispute that it's a great concept to have cars "checked out", but when they can have this much of an effect on the value of someones vehicle, they need to have a better customer service department.in the meantime, the Odyssey is sitting in our driveway until we (hopefully) can get this information updated and get it sold!
