Ripoff Bad Faith Practices, It is unbelievable to think that our insurance company would treat us in such a manner. Las Vegas Nevada

I just wanted to inform all consumers of the bad faith practices by Country Insurance.in a nut shell, my vehicle was stolen on September 13 and as of today I have received no resolution to my claim.

Additionally, I am 7 months pregnant, and the stress and horrendous experience Country has put me through has complicated my pregnancy.

My story is very lengthy, so I have put a copy of the letter sent to Country's CEO, John Blackburn.

My name is Shirley and I find it necessary to inform you of what appears to be bad faith practices and of the horrible and horrendous experience Country Insurance has put me and my husband through in regards to our claim that involves our stolen vehicle, for which a claim was filed on September 13. Up until today, we have not yet received any resolution or explanation on any of Country's issues with the claim.

I would like to begin by informing you that my husband and I were not always patrons of your company. Over a year ago, many of my family members switched over to Country Insurance for their automobile insurance needs. After being told how great Country seemed to be, my husband and I left Farmers Insurance, a policy in which I had for over 10 years, and handed over our automobile and life insurance policy to Country Insurance.in the process of incurring the new policies, I was impressed that my agent Mike Foley, made weekend trips to my home, in order to convenience us. Phone calls and questions were always returned on a timely manner.

Everything changed after the claim was filed on September 13. At first Robin Roberts and Marvin, adjusters assigned to my claim, were somewhat prompt in returning phone calls, but as time progressed, it eventually got harder to obtain any type of information or any type of response from any one at Country.

By October 13, after demanding answers, I was finally informed that my claim had gone to SIU. On several occasions I tried to contact Bill McDonald, the new adjuster in charge of my claim, and contrary to his voicemail message, calls were either never returned on a timely manner or simply never returned. On October 28, my husband and I attended an examination under oath, as requested by Country Insurance and as per policy requirement.

Let it be known that we have complied and cooperated with all of Country's requests and still up until today have not received any resolution to our claim, nearly 80 days after the claim was filed.

According to our findings, besides practicing bad faith, Country Insurance has misrepresented many facts in regards to this claim. Additionally, Country Insurance has failed to adopt and implement a reasonable standard for the prompt investigation of the claim, and has failed to confirm or deny coverage within a reasonable time after a proof of loss statement had been completed on October 28.

Also, the continual delay in handling this claim has put significant burden on my husband and me. Due to Country Insurance's delay in resolving the claim in a timely manner, we are forced to make monthly car payments on a vehicle that has been claimed a total loss by Country Insurance, and also continue to pay Country Insurance for a policy which doesn't appear to protect us as it is represented in the policy.

I would also like to notify you that this entire situation has complicated my pregnancy drastically. I have encountered an elevated level of stress, anxiety and restless nights, and now am at great risk of delivering 9 weeks before my due date. I am currently on medication to help control the stress and limit possible further complications. If I do indeed go into pre-term labor or if my unborn child or I do have any type of complication because of the stress or anxiety caused by this unbearable ordeal, I will make Country insurance fully responsible for the outcome.

Country's delay and other factors stated above, only enforces that Country Insurance spends a disproportionate time trying to prove that their Insured are criminals by intentionally exploiting finances and other almost meaningless innuendoes. It is unbelievable to think that our insurance company would treat us in such a manner, since Country still obtains additional policies for my other 2 vehicles and life insurance.

Therefore, I have found it necessary to exercise my right as a consumer and file a formal complaint against Country Insurance with the State of Nevada Insurance Commissioner's Board and have contacted the media in order to inform all consumers of Country's bad practices and treatment towards consumers. Additionally, we will proceed legally for the preservation of our rights under the Consumers Protection Law.

Mr. Blackburn, this letter is not intended as a threat of any kind, but to merely inform you of the dreadful experience Country Insurance has put me and my husband through, and the type of company you represent.
