Most disappointed in the standards of customer service at a local store. Wished to purchase a very costly vacuum cleaner by cash and the item wasnt in stock. Asked if we could pay and the item be sent from any other store for collection or ordered in to be collected from the store. Told it couldnt. The assistant was only concerned about us having the item home delivered at additional cost or us ordering it over the net by card and paying delivery. We did not want home delivery as it would have meant trying to get someone to be present to accept it.`Which was why we wanted a pay and collect option. We were then told it would take 2 to 3 weeks for the item to be in stock again and she clearly couldnt have cared less either. We left the store unimpressed with the attitude. I duly rang the customer services dept and had the same sort of drone like uninterested attitude and no concern that a large sale would now be lost either. If Argos wishes to keep customers and not lose hundreds of pounds in a sale as they have in this case (and in future) they need to consider their customers. Having spoken to a number of other people after this it would appear they arent impressed with their experiences at our local store either and yet other stores in other areas I am told seem to be far more customer focussed and only too happy to help. Patchy customer service then from Argos and now very disillusioned. So much for customer care when they couldnt really care less perhaps?
