Bought a 1989 Toyota Corolla, which I know from experience and from the opinion of every mechanic I know has one of the best engines on the road in it. Thought I was getting a good deal at $2000 for a car with 76,000 miles on it. Exactly 8 days after purchasing, got the car up to 60 miles per hour, and it blew a rod straight out the side of the engine block, leaving a hole the size of a golf ball. Told them the same day what happened, and they sat there, relaxed as ever without even having the decency to sit up in the chair, saying "Oh sorry, we can't help you. You purchased it as is." Then they had the nerve to recommend their mechanic friend to us for repairs.
Took it to a reputable company, ended up spending more money on repairing a car I have owned for a week than what I bought it for. The mechanic who fixed it said that there is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON why this particular engine would have gone out within a week, even if it was completely dry of oil. They said this engine would run a for a month with no oil, and that it is obvious to them that this dealership sold me a car with a cracked engine block and bad oil pump. These car salesmen swore to me that they had it checked out and serviced before selling it to me. This leads me to believe that they are either lieing about having it checked out, or they purposely sold me a lemon, and then had the nerve to try to keep my money in their circle by recommending their mechanic buddy.
Do not purchase a car from them!!! They can look at you and smile, knowing they are selling you a hunk of junk. And they are awefully good at it, so they must do it all the time.
