I have been totally deceived and lied to by Natalia at Sutton Ford. One day I was watching TV and saw an infomercial by Sutton Ford advertising $59 down was all you needed on a vehicle regardless of past credit history. They were the credit specialists and they could get the job done!
I called the toll free number and entered my information through their automated system and waited for a return phone call. A yound lady by the name of Natalia called me back and confirmed the information that was gathered on the application by the automated system and she told me I was *pre-approved* for $22,500.00 and all I needed to do was bring $59 for the downpayment, the 2 most recent pay stubs, a utility bill and 4 references.
I asked her once again, "Natalia, are you sure I'm preapproved and are you sure all I need down is $59?" She said yes, and you may need extra for title and registration so it may all come to a couple hundred dollars but if you don't have it all that day, the finance people can work with you on that.
So, I got up early that following Saturday morning because their dealership is an hour away and I was excited about finding a new car! The moment I walked in the dealership and sat down with some gentleman (Natalia never showed her face!) and was asked a few questions I somehow knew this was all a scam! The 3rd question the young man asked me was how much did I plan to put down.
I immediately snapped back at him $59 down. "Isn't that what you pre-approved me for and isn't that what you advertised on TV? He then went back and forth to some other guy, by the way who was very rude and unprofessional, and finally came back and told me I'd have to come back on Monday because they'd have to send my application out to a bunch of banks and none were open on Saturday.
I lost it then. I said wait a minute. What do you mean you have to send my application out to a bunch of banks? Natalia has already confirmed I was pre-approved for $22,500.00 and all I needed was $59 down! I had just driven an hour from my home to be told this bullcrap. I told him I'd be damned if I'd drive back over there and to throw my application in the garbage because I don't want to deal with people like them. And they wonder why car sales people are looked at as the scum of the earth. It's because of dealerships like this.
I advise anyone who sees their informerical on TV to channel surf right past that channel and not waste your time dealing with that low life dealership! Don't waste your money with dishonest, deceitful people and surely don't let them send your application off to "a bunch of banks" as I was told because anyone who knows anything about credit knows that too many inquiries in a short period of time will drag your credit score down and if you have shaky credit they will make it where if you don't get a car there your credit score will drop so low no other dealership will be able to help you either!
