Bought a car from this dealership in SLC. Pulled my SSN even when I told the sales associate that I was paying in cash. I asked the sales associate why he was pulling my SSN if I was paying in cash and he gave me this "I am dumb look". I kind of helped him a bit by asking him if it was a "soft hit". He obviously did not know what this meant but said yes, probably because this was a sale he could not lose.
Went to the office of this lady Jamie Daly. She showed me a copy of my credit report. I complained about it and she said it is required by law. I asked her, even if I was paying in cash? And she said it was required by law. Gave her my check.
After a couple of days I told Ms. Daly not to deposit the check yet because I had to close that account or something. I called Ms. Daly and she said that was fine and she just told me to re-issue a new check.
Several months later I complained to the BBB about their sales practices and this Ms. Jamie Daly totally wrote to the BBB a different story. She said that I had signed a credit application and that I paid late anyway, so that is considered extending credit.
When someone tells you everything is fine and dandy and then turns around and turns into a monster by saying: "Well, you were late anyway!" Then something is definitely wrong with this dealership!
If she extended credit, where is the interest rate? Where are the credit terms? Sixty months? 36 months? What? Because she told me that I can re-send a check several days later, is that considered extending credit? I think she needs to go to business school. I would understand exacting a late payment but extending credit? Those are two different terms.in fact, if she considered it so late, why did she not tell me to pay a late payment fee? It is because this was a one-time banking error and she knew I handed her a check and that was the payment before I walked out the dealership door.
This dealership is very, very sneaky. Do not ever make the mistake of doing business with them. To top it all of, they change their stories once they are confronted and they are too proud to admit that they made a mistake.
Please learn from my suffering and don't suffer under the hands of Jody Wilkinson Acura. It will save you time, money, convenience and energy to fight these folks!
Stay away from this company. I am warning you already! Stay away and walk away if you feel uncomfortable with what they are doing.
Don't give your hard earned money to folks who do not deserve it. There are so many dealers out there in Salt Lake City who deserve your time and money but definitely not Jody Wilkinson Acura.
Please heed my warning!
