While traveling thru south Carolina, we had a blow out on the motorhome we were traveling in. The right outside rear tire blow out. We call a garage, from our GPS system, there trucks were busy so they told us to call Merritts Garage. We called them and they came right out. The repair person was not a friendly person and he did not have the correct tools to fix the tire. We told him the exact tire we needed and also it was on a motorhome. The repair person (bob), went back to the garage and made a makeshift tool to do the job. AAter 3 hours the tire was changed with the wrong type of tire. Then came all the charges which added up to over 700.00. He even charge us with not having the correct tool. The only payment Merritts garage would except was CASH. We travel with credit and debit cards not cash. This garage lies to you and then holds you hostage, while they drive you to the bank to get a cash advance. We have had tires blow out before on the road and the average repair is around 450.00 to 500.00. A good repair garage will accept credit cards for traverlers. This garage is a BIG BIG rip off. We had to drive to there garage after the tire was fixed, where they held us hostage until a person drove one of us to the bank for the cash. The garage itself was falling down the bigest dump I have ever seen. This was a very scary situation. Please do not use this garage. They prey on you.
