Curt Hammond and Hammond Auto Service Took My Money and ran... I have had Curt Hammond work on my various Ford Vehicles over the past year or so and have had no problems until this time.
I had a problem with my truck that he has fixed before and was told I needed to replace some parts in the exhaust system and would cost about $120 or so. He told me what I needed and said he could do it tomorrow.
I said fine and he asked for his $40 service charge. I only had a hundred dollar bill and told him to take the $100 and buy the parts and come back tomorrow and I would pay him the rest ($20 or so for the parts and $40 for his service fee). He has done about $800 worth of work for me over the years so I figured giving him the money up front would be OK.
Was I wrong... A few days after the initial meeting he told me that I was going to have to buy parts and he would apply the $100 to the remaining balance ($40 service fee and about ($60 for install of the parts).
I went out and bought the parts and asked when he could come by to install. 2 weeks later no Curt Hammond and now he won't even answer the phone.
So if you are thinking about using Curt Hammond and Hammond Auto Service make sure you do not pay anything up front as he even screws his old customers.
