I am expressing my opinions on this shop, Jiffy Lube at 1695 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd in Thousand Oaks, California. My expectation for business ethics may be higher than most people's. What I say here is 100% truth. No lies and no exaggerations. After you read my comments, you may agree with me and decide that they don't deserve to have your business. Or you may admire them for being very good at making money. So, here we go.
1. They did oil change for my Toyota RAV 4 six times. I liked the convenience of getting oil change in about 30 minutes without an appointment.
2. They spent a lot of efforts to send me coupons to remind me to go to their shop. But when I arrived and wanted to use their coupon, they said the coupon had expired. Without the discount, their price is actually higher than other shop's.
3. When you, as a customer, pulled your car in, their concentration is on charging you as much as they can and not on what your car needs. They will recommend something your car doesn't need. I would like to alert especially woman car owners. If you go to Jiffy Lube, you need to go in there with a clear head and be vigilant. Let me tell you our true story.in June or July after two years of ownership of our 2007 Toyota RAV 4, I tried to even out the tire wear so that later on I could replace all 4 tires at the same time. For that reason, I asked Discount Tire Store to move my 2 tires with deeper treads to the front and move the 2 tires with very little treads to the rear, because the car is heavier in the front.in the second week of August, I was out of town. My daughter, from out of State, came back and borrowed my car. She volunteered to take the car in for an oil change. Somehow, people at Jiffy Lube moved my front tires (with deeper treads) to the rear and moved my rear tires (with minimum treads) to the front and charged her $19.99. After I found out and complained, the store manager only agreed to move the tires again, but refused to refund the money. I took my car in to Jiffy Lube 5 times. They never mentioned tire rotation to me. Why? Was it because I am a man?
4. They always tried to sell me cabin air filter, which is hidden behind glove compartment. Their price is outrageous. I saved quite a bit of money by replacing cabin air filter myself. There are instructions on the Internet.
My rating for Jiffy Lube is one star, just for the convenience factor.
