I had a van that was unable to pass the emissions inspection, and I was told I needed to have a carburetor rebuild. I purchased a rebuild unit from Carburetor and Radiator Exchange at 7th Avenue and Cave Creek Road. They installed the carburetor, and the truck has run terribly ever since.
Twice I've had it back to try and get it running right. Both times, there has been no improvement. Twice, they supposedly worked on it (while I walked down the street for a burger) and upon completion said that it would pass inspection. Both times it failed, and both times they had failed to reinstall all the hoses from the PCV system.
One of their mechanics commented that other hoses had not all been hooked-up properly. But that van had previously been a corporate fleet vehicle, with a history of professional dealer maintenance, and had always run like a watch.
The hoses were not the problem, his lack of knowlege was.in addition to being harder to start, the vacuum is now incorrect and it has affected the shifting. I would urge anyone who needs carb or radiator work to stay away from this shop.
