I was on my way home from work and a mere block away from my home, when the front end of my truck suddenly collapsed and ruined my tire making it impossible to steer away from oncoming traffic, and inevitably having to stop to avoid further damage. This resulted in several police vehicles coming to my aide and calling a tow company to remove my small pickup truck from the intersection.
The company picked up my truck, and I had to inquire as to how much they were going to charge me to move it. The driver told me 180$ minimum for the hour. Once we got to the house, I asked the driver if it would be okay if I went to the bank to get the money to pay him right there and now, in which the driver said it was okay to do so, and that he would wait for me.
Not even 20 minutes later he was gone with no sort of paper work, contract, notice, or bill left behind, and no number to call. Keep in mind that only 40 minutes had passed from the time they towed my truck, to the time I got back from the bank, only to find them gone.
I managed to find their company number on-line and called them. They claimed that they had to charge me extra because somehow it had taken an hour and a half to tow my truck, and they had to charge me even more for keeping it in their lot as well, which shouldn't even be there in the first place.
The total came to 315$ and if I wanted to pick up my truck that that same day I had to pay an extra 90$ because someone had to wait for me, because they were "closed". So if I wanted my truck back the same day it would have cost me over 400$
So I have less than 24 hours to pay their unfair fees and get my truck before they decide to charge me more.
Not only are the employees of this company liars, they are completely incompetent and unprofessional. I truly believe they are making up bogus fees to get as much money out of me as possible, and making up numbers as they go.
I strongly suggest to stay away from this company if you are living in the inland empire area. Request a more competent company if you are ever broken down somewhere or need to call a tow.
