Ripoff victimized many consumers-overcharging and screwing up EXPENSIVE work

Well i took my 2002 vw golf which is another report to them to get the brakes changed and they first told me it was only gunna be 70 bucks. Ok fine. So i told them to go ahead. Then the manager came and told me that i had sensors on my brakes *which are not even working*

So im like ok it needs to be done go ahead. Ok so first of all i was there at that shop for almost 5 hours when they said it would only take maybe 1 hour tops. So again he comes back and tells me its gunna be more. I was angry at this point but i went with it. Im female and i think this had something to do with it.

So i finally get the car back greasy tires didnt even attempt to clean up the grease they got on them, so i get my car and go home. Well the next two days where fine but then im on the freeway and i notice this chirping sound. So i pulled over and as i pulled over the brakes squeeled so loud i had to roll up the windows so i pulled over and i didnt see anything. I work so i had to wait like two weeks because i dont have 6 hours to wait for them to finish.

So i called and asked them if i could bring the car back in. No problem. Saturday came and we took the car in at 8:30 am. So i wait and wait and wait some more til finally at 12:00noon i call them. The response i get " i drove the car around the block and i didnt hear anything. I dont have time to test drive the car" First thing that comes to my head is... You cant call and tell me the cars been there for 4 hours already. So i get smart this time i get my boyfriend to go with me. We ended up going down there. I had to test drive my own car! So i drove around for about 15 minutes to see if i heard anything.

And sure enough! Chirping and squeeling. So i hurry back to midas and asked if someone could come along. The manager got one of his mechanics to come with me. So as soon as we pull off same thing and he hears it and cringes " he is new there" is what he says. So back we go to midas. So i take my boyfriend home because its hot and i didnt want him to suffer the heat anymore " he was already sick" so anyway, so i waited two more hours while they fixed my car and told me i had glazed the brakes didnt even inform me how or how to avoid this. Fine i said i glazed the brakes. If i wouldnt have mentioned the fact of i wonder how much this shits gunna cost me they would have charged me but in the end they didnt. BTW the original brake job cost me almost 300 dollars. So im on my way home hoping this doesnt happen again. So i run by and pick up my boyfriend and head to lancaster which is about a two hour drive. I figure my brakes are good and it would give me a chance to test it.

No more than 2 minutes into the ride before even the freeway it started and is still going to this day. My boyfriend is suppose to talk to the area manager tomorrow to see what they can do.

Well i wanted a second opinion so i went and asked my brother who does this stuff and is very knowledgeable. So he got in the car drove it around came straight back and told me what was wrong. He said midas had put metallic brakes on my car and they take ceramic. The area manager is telling us there is no difference in these two.

Im very angry about this and I think its a ripoff and basically after i get it done hopefully right this time I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO MIDAS!

P.S. While i was there in the shop they had repaired someones air conditioning unit told him it needed to be recharged
charged him 200 dollars and sent him on his way... No more than 20 minutes later the guy came back and said 10 miles down the road the air conditon stopped working. They put the car on the racks and checked the hoses. The manager came back in and tld the guy it was gunna be over 600 dollars to fix the air conditioning and not charge him for charging the air conditioner again. The guy was furious and left. He basically got swindled out of 200 dollars for incorrect repair. BTW this was not the first time ive seen this in my long waits and stays at midas...
