Colorado Farm Bureau Insurance
Dan Lander, Rebecca Calloway, Art Wallace WARNING! Do not buy insurance if you might ever have a claim to file! Unless you jst like to be bullied and abused!

My very first and only claim with Colorado Farm Bureau resulted in bullying and threats from my adjuster and no response what so ever (even with threats to take my multiple policies else where) from my agent. I was involved in a rear-end collision and since I was injured and needed to heal I thought it would be best to simply file with my insurance and let them do battle with the at fault party's insurance. Well if this is how CFB treats their own customers, I would hate to see how they treat someone who isn't their client!

1st of all, when at the accident scene, I was disoriented and could not find my current insurance card. The police officer at the scene called the customer service number on my expired card to get the updated expiration date so that he wouldn't have to issue me a citation (way above and beyond). Customer Service told him that information was available on line (I've not been given a web address for them once since I signed on) and REFUSED to verify the current expiration date! Had my husband not arrived when he did and find the current card, my own insurance company was going to victimize me!

I repeatedly asked for information in writing and received no response or verbal response only (and only after calling to follow up on my initial email). I was made promises verbally and when asked for them in writing was threatened with back charging storage fees to me for delaying the settlement and release of my vehicle. I was verbally told I had one week with the rental car from the date the total loss was determined, but when I went to return the car one day before my week was up I was informed they stopped the rental car coverage 3 days prior!

I finally received (after multiple attempts) what I was asking for (which was really just a simple explanation and break down of my property damage settlement — not the determination of value which was several pages long and difficult to decipher the actual value). Because I still have a medical claim, I requested that Rebecca Calloway be removed from my case. I asked to be able to deal with a different adjuster because of how blatantly rude and disrespectful she has been to me through this whole ordeal. They refused! I spoke to her supervisor, Art Wallace, who was also disrespectful and condescending.

I repeatedly asked my agent Dan Lander to get involved and at least talk to me or talk to his company... Only when I started the ball rolling to stop the ACH payments for my monthly bill did he respond. They basically told me I could go to hell in so many words. So I've paid for a year's worth of insurance (switched from my agent of 10 years because a family member went to work for them — she too was treated abominably!) and rather than apologize for my troubles or difficulties, rather than help save a client... They tell me to take my business else where. My agent, my adjuster and my adjuster's supervisor all three let my business go without so much as an apology!

I am now going to have to wait months to see my deductible (if I see it at all). Which just goes to prove that you get screwed no matter if you are the client or just the claimant. The insurance companies will screw you over every time... Its what they are in the business of doing.

My relative who recently left their employ as well as other employees (who are also planning on leaving) have told me this is how they do business with all their clients.

If you have CFB, drop them... Go some place else... It is worth it to pay more (though you can get less expensive insurance) than to be treated this way. If you are shopping for insurance do not go with CFB (or really any Farm Bureau frankly). Everything is fine until you have a claim... And while no one anticipates a claim... We all wind up having them at some point or another. Try to minimize your pain and anguish and do not allow CFB to touch any of your insurance policies!
