I purchased a used 1999 tahoe from Holmes Tuttle Ford through Dan MacGlashing in the Vip trailer parked in the company lot on May 30th. The tahoe had no warranty other than a power train warranty for 90 days. Which include the engine, transmission and the axles. I accepted the terms.
I asked Dan if the vehicle was thoroughly checked/inspected. To be sure the brakes were in good condition and all front-end was in good working condition. His replied was "This is an excellent vehicle, and you shouldn't have any problems with it and yes the vehicle was thoroughly checked".
My family and I went on vacation on June 2nd through June 6th. 1 week later from our vacation the brakes started making noises. So I had Brake Maxx on Silverbell check it out, they said the rotors were gone and needed replacing but the brake pads were in good condition. Brake Maxx said this should have been caught by the people at Holmes Tuttle Ford. The cost to replace the rotors were approx. $165.00.
1 week after the rotors were replaced I took the tahoe back to Brake maxx to have the front end aligned. Brake Maxx said that the lower ball joints are bad and Holmes Tuttle Ford should have noticed this and repaired it as well as the rotors. The cost for this will be $338.00 to replace both lower ball joints.
You would think a reputable corporation such as Holmes Tuttle Ford would have checked all safety equiptment and do the necessary repairs prior to selling any vehicle to the public.
I emailed Dan in regards to my concerns to get help relacing the lower ball joints and the only thig he could say is:
I forwarded the e-mail to my supervisor in the used car department and he said there is no assistance we can provide you. I know that is not the response you were looking for but I went through the appropriate channels.

Holmes Tuttle Ford did not check my vehicle like Dan had claimed. This company is dishonest, and will rip you off at any cost.
The only good thing I can say is that they will wash you vehicle before you buy it and fill your gas tank.
