ColorCars did not find the vehicle of MY choice so when the contract expired, I thought my $500 deposit would be returned. I was wrong.
ColorCars did not contact me once during the allotted time (30 days) to inform me of how their search was going. I have no evidence that anyone at ColorCars was even searching for any vehicles at all.
I spoke to a lawyer and they told me ColorCars is not a registered business in Nova Scotia and they have little or no assets in Canada. All of their business is done in US funds and all of the money is going straight to an account in the US or to some other country, so no Canadian court can touch it.
My lawyer also informed me that the US auctions that ColorCars buy cars from only auction cars that are prohibited by US law to be sold at their dealerships.in other words, a US consumer protection law ensures the cars cannot be sold at any US dealership because they are damaged, have been in accidents, and were poorly maintained. So they auction them off to people like ColorCars.
I feel like I was easily taken advantage of by ColorCars. I will never do business with ColorCars again, and will never see my $500 again.
Used car salespeople have a saying, "There's an a*-hole for every seat", and I was the sucker.
