On April 21 I had my 1969 Chevy C10 Pickup towed to AAMCO because the transmission only had one working gear, Reverse. I picked the truck up on May 1 and paid $1600 for a recondition service.
Yesterday June 9 the truck developed a severe transmission fluid leak. I called AAMCO and had them tow the truck there. I just spoke to the new manager who told me (and I quote) "I do agree you were highly over charged for the work that was done but don't quote me on that I will deny it". Now they are telling me that on top of having over charged me they are going to have to charge me to replace the line that has gone bad. He will not explain exactly which line is bad either.
I explained to him considering the damage that was caused to my truck while in their care the last time I figured they owned me this much. When he asked I explained to him that the clutch wire was left laying on top of the muffler and it was now a crispy wire, the breather valve for the engine had been knocked off, there now was a knocking noise in the engine that had not been there before and the truck would not start when we arrived to pick it up. It took us 1 hour to get the battery recharged. I also told him that this all was reported to the manager there at the time with the same response "not my problem".
I am still awaiting them to contact me and tell me how much more I am going to have to pay for terrible workman ship. I don't believe this will be a situation which ends happily.
I find it highly insulting that the manager tells me that the previous manager highly over charged me but refuses to correct the situation.
