These guys are freaking sleazy as hell. They wont let you test drive until you've been approved for financing, and they wont submit you for financing until you've paid them a deposit. They say that if financing is approved, that your deposit becomes non-refundable.
These guys gave me a list of 10 things they needed from me in order to get approved for financing, but I still wasnt sure that I wanted to do business, so I didn't submit the requirements. The sales guy made my wife cry with his high-pressure tactics, and she and I left the lot to calm her down.
When I got back by myself to get our deposit back, they informed me that they couldn't do that, becasue we had already been approved. Approved, how? I never sibmitted all the paycheck info, references, proof of residence, etc!
They were selling an 03 Mitsubishi Lancer LS in fair condition (to the naked eye) with 120,000 miles that has a KBB value of about 3500, they had marked it up to 7500.
I walked in and requested a reliable car for 1000 down and 200/month thereafter. When they "approved" me on financing, it was for 1500 down and 344/month. Due to their gracious "approval", they said that I was now stuck in hte car or I would lose my deposit. At 35%, they had just hooked me into a 3500 car for a grand toatal of about 11000!!!
Do yourself a favor and just take the bus a bit longer if you're desperate enough to walk onto this lot.
