Ripoff, dishonest, false promises ripoff fraud business victimized us

5/9/03 Friday
Called John (owner) to check on 96'GrandAm. John said to come over and he'll work out a deal. John came down on the price from $3650 to $2800 along with trading in my car. Thought I was getting a great deal. Put down $100 deposit. Car had noise in the engine and John said it wasn't ready to go today and the rocker arms had to be adjusted. Now I had to come back to Lansing after driving 150 miles there and back while my car has a hole in the exhaust and truck.

John NEVER called me ever! I always had to call him. John would say he'll check on it and call me right back. Never a call. Atleast the mechanic would return some of my calls.

5/12/03 Monday
Called John about car. John said car would be finished on Wednesay.

5/14/03 Wednesday
Called John about status. John said to call the mechanic. Mechanic called me end of day and said to call him tomorrow.

5/15/03 Thursday
Mechanic said car is ready to go. He just adjusted the last 3 rocker arms. Thought that was already done on Wednesday and found out the mechanic didn't own a torque wrench to adjust the rockers and just bought it on. Therefore they never even started on it until thursday. Mechanic said to come pick up the car. Drove another 150 miles there and back again to the shop. Car still made noise. Drove the car and ther wasn't power.

Came back and told the owner something is wrong along with it still making the noise. John got in the car with me and said his mechanic doesn't always know what he is doing. Came back to the shop and John said the mechanic will be fired if it needs a new engine and he screwed it up. Then got me upset crying because John said he will have to relist the car if it needs a new engine. Tried to sell me another car.

Told him I didn't come all this way to look at other vehicles when I could of done that in Detroit the motor city where I live Oak Park. John called his mechanic that used to work for him to check out the car. I stayed at the shop until 12:30am. Found out the mechanic didn't screw up the car after all and there was a lifter not pushing up one of the valves. 2nd mechanic said that car would be ready to go the next day.

5/16/03 Friday
John never called. Called mechanic and he said he is waiting for the other mechanic to finish up with the car.

5/17/03 Saturday
John never called. Called mechanic regarding status. Mechanic now says he has a stuck valve. Mechanic said other mechanic is coming tonight to work on it. Said to call him about 6pm and never received a call back. While searching the internet looking for more cars since I was getting the run around from them and notice they just put a new listing on cars.com.

5/18/03 Sunday
LM for John and mechanic all day long on their cell phones. Never a call back as always.

5/19/03 Monday
Mechanic said still working and and not to look for another car as of yet. Hold off until tomorrow and call back.

5/21/03 Wednesday
Almost 2 weeks have gone by with no car and John has the title to my car along with my $100 deposit. Mechanic says the valve is stuck and will have to replace the head which John then won't sell me the car for the price quoted. Called John but his secretary answered. Told her to send me my money along with title for my car. Ask to have it overnighted but she said I had to speak with John. Told her to just put it in the mail.

5/22/03 Thursday
Called secretary to verify she put everything in the mail. She said she couldn't find the title. I asked to speak with John. John said he'll get it out right away. I asked if he could overnight it since I have been through alot with his shop, he agreed and said he could do that.

5/23/03 Friday
No package received! Called secretary. She knows nothing. Asked for a tracking #. She knows nothing! Know John didn't overnight because it would of been delivered by 10am the next day. Asked secretary if she sees my title on Johns desk. She sees nothing!

Bottom line... I validate dealers nationwide on their Operating Standards. Already made up report with Bureau of Automotive Regulations. Not compliant on numerous safety standards.

John - if you see this message... You definitely screwed over the wrong girl!!!
