Dave's auto mechanic shop not only ripped me off, yet they took a rediculous amount of time to work on my car. When I dropped my car off on a thursday, they told me they were going to make it pass inspection. One week later, the only work they had completed on the car were the back breaks and brake lamp cover.
Not only were they rude everytime I had called to find out when my car would be ready, they lied to me as well. First of all, I might add that finding a ride to work and other nessesary places for six days was a hassle. On the sixth day I called again to find out when it might be ready. The woman who answered the phone told me my car was still was not ready, and that it was a big inconvenience for them. She told me I was going to be able to pick it up at 1pm because everyone was on break. This made me very late for work. I called back to find out how much it was going to cost when I was to pick it up, and that is when Dave got on the phone. He was very upset, swearing, telling me that the car was 'to get the hell out of here', and that he was 'done working on it for good', and to 'take it somewhere else, and get raked over the coals there'. He also added that he 'did not know the freakin bill'.
I would like to mention that if anyone would want customers, they would treat them with respect. Also, that they might complete a project in a timely manner. Neglecting to execute both in a friendly way has upset me very much. He had also told me on the phone that the car was not going to be ready by 1pm, and that it had to be picked up the next day. This was very much an inconvenience, as I was already told it was going to be ready at 1pm. The reason for this was because it supposedly needed to be left on the machine all night to find out why the check engine light was still on.
I had called another auto mechanic shop close by, and discovered that Dave's Auto charged me close to a hundred dollars over what the other mechanic would have charged, and that the computer situation Dave told me about on the phone was a lie.
When questioned why it took so long, he responded 'we are doing this the cheapest way possible for you'.
One might think twice about bringing their car to Dave's Auto on Granite street if they are expecting quality customer service, a friendly staff assisting them, and their car to be ready in a timely manner.
