Goodyear Gemini Service Center
Incompetant... To say the least

It has taken me two years to finally get to rate this service center/retailer.in 2007 I decided to forego going to the dealer for service on an Acura MDX and an Nissan Altima. This place looked clean and was new, in a new shopping center. They ended up ruining one set of tires on the Acura, and permanently damaging the Nissan.

After at least three oil changes on the Acura (with vehicle inspections), and at least two tire rotations, the (less than 1.5 year old) tires were making an aweful noise. Went back and was informed that we needed new tires and an allignment and that our tires were 'chopped' (and no longer good) on the inside. We were told that we should have had an allignment to have prevented the issue. I reminded them that they have been inspecting the tires and rotating them for (at least) the last 10k miles, and I inquired as to why the 'tire experts' had not noticed the impending damage and recommended an alllignment earlier? They admitted mistake and offered to sell us tires. We sold the car.

The Nissan is an even worse story. The Nissan had been going there for longer than the Acura. I had the Struts relaced, at their recommendation ($1000 plus), and then the CV joints were going out - one in particular, but they are replaced in pairs I was told. I had them do one, it leaked transmission fluid in my garage every night. Went back every couple of days and complained and they kept stating they were going to fix. Anyway I decided to have the other one replaced while they were down there. Then both leaked. I went back, and back. They 'fixed, and fixed' again. The leaks got worse.

After complaining to National Gemini Service. They got me a rental and had to have Nissan Dealer fix the car. The dealer stated, and showed to Goodyear Rep., the damage they (Goodyear) had caused to the alluminum receiver where the flange was supposed to seat. Goodyear admitted that they did not have the proper tools to do the job, and instead of doing the job properly, they had gouged out the alluminum. The job could not be warrantied by Nissan as that the Transmission was damaged. The estimate for a new transmission housing was a lot (well over $1500 from what I recall). Goodyear refused to fix the damage to the housing, and considered the issue settled since the seals were not leaking.

Short of me suing them, I had no option. I sold the car as that it was being driven 120 miles a day by wife and I could not guarantee her safety in it.

I have had two other work collegues that have had damage from this center.

One, with a 350z, had them install a new battery; the battery was not installed correctly and blew up under his hood in his driveway when he got home. He cut his losses and had the car fixed by someone else.

Another had odd noises after an oil change. They also had to deal with national gemini to come to a resolution. She will "Never, ever, go back".

I would not recommend this service center to Anyone, not even if I hated them. Do not give this place your business, your money, or your car.
