We rented an economy car on their web-site. First problem: no shuttle at the airport pick up for at least 45 minutes. We had to call twice to get a pick up. We had a guaranteed rate of $29.97 per day with taxes and fees it came to $36.37. When we arrived at the "lot" which is nothing more than a driveway, there were no economy cars there, only vans. They tried to upsell us to a van. We said "no". Then they tried to upsell insurance. We again said "no". We had to show proof of insurance including insurer's name and policy number. When they couldn't upsell us, they claimed the extra taxes and fees would be around another $25.00 per day. Our rate turned out to be somewhere in the neighborhood of $62.00, not the $36.37 (which already included taxes and fees). We walked away and went to Alamo which is a couple blocks away. We rented a car from Alamo for around $39 per day.in my opinion Ace is a rip-off. I tried to save a few bucks by renting with Ace instead of Alamo and it ended up costing me money and lots of time.
