3 weeks ago I purchased a tire that was going flat. The tire I replaced was one I had previously purchased from Big O as well. 3 days after getting the tire I noticed that it was starting to go flat. I then contacted Big O Tire and complained that it was deflating after only a few days. They informed me that it was climate changes since the sun was coming out and it had been very cold and to refill it with air each time it lowered. They also informed me that if it continued to have issues they would replace my tire for me.
So for another 2 weeks I drove my car refilling it each time I took it out and in the mornings filling it with air before I drove away from my house. I had noticed that the tire was still having issues to I had a friend of mine take the car in while I was at work. My friend called me and said that they would not replace it because I had drove it while it was losing air. We argued for a moment and I had to go because I needed to work.
I got a call 15 minutes later from my friend stating that if I don't move the car that they propped up on the side of their shop and had already removed my tire, that they would tow it and charge me. When I had asked them the cause of the deflation of my tire they said it was rust in my rims. There had not been any weather changes that would have caused any damage to my rims from the time I purchased it to the time it was flat. I asked them why they had not noticed this before and he got upset with me and told me to get my car and get away before he towed it again.
I took my rim to another shop and they were surprised why another tire had been placed on it and could already tell that is why my tire had gone flat for the last few tires that had been placed on it.
Big O Tires states they will take care of you and keep their promises they make and also flaunt their amazing skills with tires and rims.
Both times I have purchased a tire they did not inspect my rims to see if that is the cause of them going flat, I paid $125.00 each time. I did not even get a month out of each tire before it was destroyed and they claimed they would not cover it. It is good to know they can sell you a tire, take your money and be happy. But as soon as you prove them wrong they ignore you and threaten to tow your vehicle when they know they are in the wrong.
Good job for not doing your jobs that you are so good at. Next time make sure to check the RIM that your putting the tires on. If not at least take responsibility for doing so.
This is a private owned store, so my complaint to their manager was pointless, and corporate Big O said they would not do anything about it. Go figure.
