I traded my 2005 Nissan Murano in for a Prius in 2007 so I could drive HOV. They initally wanted to rip me off by telling me that the 2005 Prius was worth more than my loaded Murano. After haggling for 4 HOURS, I finally decided to seal the deal.in filling out all the paperwork, I made sure that the carfax was clean. Then he wanted me to sign a document that said I viewed the AUTOCHECK report - I asked him what an autocheck was, and he said "you already viewed it - it's the carfax." Not knowing what autocheck was, I took his word and signed it, knowing that I viewed the carfax. The man I was dealing with was Hassan.
After a couple months my job didn't work out and I no longer needed to drive HOV so I wanted to sell the car. My husband and I went to carmax to get a qoute, we were hoping to get at least 12k for it. When the carmax guy came back he said if we knew it had been in an accident. Apparently, the accident was not reported to carfax but was reported to autocheck. Up until then, I had no idea what autocheck was. Checking back, carfax does not guarentee their report for accidents - just for floods, etc.
I called Koons and was transferred to the Customer Relations Director. I asked if, at least, they could trade in my car for another of the same value (and for one that WASN"T in an accident) so I could at least sell it. This "Customer Relations" Director was SO rude, would not work with me, and declined any offer I presented even though THEY lied to me. When I asked Hassan what an autocheck was, it was not the same as a carfax. This Director, who, given her title, would be at least polite and willing to work with you - you would think. She ended up hanging up on me.
I cannot stress enough - DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE - they lie, they are rude, and they do not care about their customers!!!
