I used this company a few months ago when I started trying to locate a friend who bought my car but stopped making payments (don't need to hear comments about that, there are enough boot prints on my backside!). Autocheck had more records (4) for my VIN than Carfax and were cheaper so I tried them. Even though the report didn't reveal anything I didn't already know, it did provide a baseline for future searches.
Today, I ran the VIN again on autocheck.com and the results showed one more record (5) than last time, so I bought the report.
THERE WAS NOTHING NEW - ONLY FOUR RECORDS. When I did a Google search on autocheck.com, I found that other consumers had a different complaint: they advertise "unlimited" searches for $24.95 but the "fine print" LIMITS your searches to 25 in a 60 day period. I also discovered that this company is run by one of the credit reporting agencies, Experian. It even has a footer on the home page that says "Powered by Experian data".
