I purchased a 2005 Grand Am GT from McDonald GMC on 2/27/09 which is located about 1-1/2 hours from my home. This car supposedly had the GM 117 point inspection done on it prior to the sale. It also came with the GM Bumper to Bumper 12 month/12,000 mile warranty, as it claims "no worries". After I retrned home I noticed a piece of the windshield molding had broken off.
No worries, I thought, as the dealership had called to tell me they had forgotten to have me sign the warranty papers. I told them what happened, no worries, you can take it to any GM dealership & have it repaired. Just wait until we mail you the warranty papers, you sign them and mail them back. I waited as instructed.
On 3/10 I rolled down my drivers side window to hear the window being scratched by something inside of the door. I immediatle let the dealership know, no worries, papers have been filed, take it in and get it repaired. The local dealership said the GM service rep said that because both of these should have been fixed under the inspection process they won't cover it under the warranty. The dealership I purchased the vehicle from told me because it is not covered under the warranty I will have to pay for the repairs out of my pocket. Stay away from mcdonald gmc!!!
