DON'T ever buy a vehicle from One Stop Auto in Grayville, Illinois. My husband and I just traded in a very nice 1993 Ford Thunderbird LX for a 1996 Dodge Stratus. We were led on to believe that we were making an even trade. The dealer, Jimmy Banks was asked to explain all cost, etc. To the full before we signed any papers at all because of the fact that we could easily be screwed over.
He wrote all cost on a piece of paper right in front of my husband and I. Everything worked out great on paper so my husband and I happily signed lots of papers for this man which were all in agreement with the way he explained everything.
After we got home in our new used vehicle we decided to look over the papers again and we took note that it was not exactly how Jim had explained things to be but we had already signed papers so we were stuck paying an extra 1500.00 dollars. This really pissed my husband and I off but we knew of nothing to do about our situation. Well, around the seventh day of ownership my husband noticed that the car was leaking oil. We immediately called and made an appointment for it to be looked at but it couldn't be seen until today which makes the tenth day of ownership. My husband and I chose not to notify the dealer thinking it was something very minor. Well, the mechanic tells me that the head gasket is pouring out oil and it will cost at least 500.00 dollars to get it repaired.
I immediately told my husband of our unfortunate news and we chose then to contact the dealer, Jimmy Banks. I called him and he tells me that he knew of no such problem and that he totally refuses to fix it, or pay to have it fixed. We have only had the car ten days. I want REVENGE!!! I want my car fixed, or my thunderbird returned to me in the nice shape that I left it, and I want everyone to know how crooked Jimmy Banks and One Stop Auto are.
But wait that's not all. My little brother just purchased a vehicle from this same dealer one week ago and the battery has already gone dead leaving him stranded after only having his vehicle four days. The alternator is said to be the problem which will cost around 100.00 dollars to replace. Once again Jimmy Banks was notified of this incident and said he knew nothing of a bad alternator and he did say that he would replace with another and it was to be picked up the next morning.
The next morning my brother borrowed someone else's vehicle to go pick up his alternator. NOTE: The dealer is 30 miles one way from where we all live. Well, guess what happened. Good old Jimmy Banks was no where to be found and the other workers knew nothing about the replacement alternator. This is three days later and the vehicle is stranded in an alley where it first broke down. No replacement alternator has been seen yet. He traded a truck in that ran excellent for this car that lasted only four days. Could you please help me, my husband, and possibly my little brother? He is only 16 years old and he did save up alot of cash, plus traded in his truck only to be screwed.
Sincerely Pissed Off,
Amy and Tony
