To start off with the only reason that I am even doing this is to protect the individuals that might not be as informed as me. (not because i was over charged). Pulley went bad in my 98 Concorde and tore my belt off while I was on Deer Park Ave in Deer Park. Told service manager what parts to order and that I needed to get to work. (was told it would not be long) so being I live 10 min away I walked home. Got call 3 hours later was told it would be about $145.00 with parts labor and tax (got there they ask for $210.00 with tax) I look at the counter person like he has 2 heads ask why higher than what I was told (he says he didnt know, states job must have given the mechanic some trouble which was why it was more money) The bill said $95.00 labor / (book time says. 7 hours and thats with removal of belt over charged by 100%)/$49.50 belt (dealer cost $12.00 over charged 350%)/47.50 pulley (dealer cost $17.00 overcharged 300%) THE BILL WAS $210.00 AND THE CORRECT PRICE WAS ABOUT $115.00
THE WORST PART WAS WHEN I COMPLAINED TO THE DISTRICT MANAGER NAME KIETH. All he did was justify the Deer Park locations actions, and assure me that he knows more about cars than me (which by the way I realy doubt) I have pulled motors, trannys and built my shair of 10 second track cars. STAY AWAY FROM THESE RIP OFF ARTIST'S (Even if you know cars they will try to RIP YOU OFF) I WOULD HATE TO SEE HOW THEY WOULD TREAT AN OLD PERSON WHO WOULD NOT KNOW HOW TO PROTECT THEMSELVES! I think I will go to my local news media also (I think that these Con Artists are in deperate need of a learning experience!!!
