So I bought a car from this private dealer named John Croft of OLEAN, NY dba Jack Croft Auto sales, i purchased the car in late Oct with a down payment of 1000 dollars cash and a trade in of a 97 ford taurus for the total downpayment of 1500. The car i was buying was a 02 acura, he actually held the financing on this car so i thought it would be easier going through him, boy was i wrong, from the get go this guy was very irrataiting to deal with, so on his general contract it stated payments were to be made every 2 week, that was fine so i made my first 2 week payment and decicded to have a talk with him to see if i could pay monthly, we talked and both agreed that, that would be fine. So I make Nov and Dec monthy payments on time so now jan payment is due on the the 10th, he repossed my car on the 16 of Jan stating that i was late on the payment and he had every right to repo it for breach of contract. I was only 6 days late, he came to my work and stole my car with out even givng me any notice. Then when i went to his dealership he refused to even talk to me about it, so basically he got me for my downpayment, the payments I had made on the car and the actual car. This guy comes off as a decent business man until you sign the paperwork. My mother owns a salon and has found out he has done this to at least 5 other people that she knows of. This guy is a con artist, he gets your money and the second your late with a payment he reposses your car. He tried to even keep my personal belongings that were in the car which included my pistol (which is a felony for him to posses. TAKE THIS WITH GRAIN ASSULT - NO MATTER HOW BAD YOU NEED A CAR, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH JACK CROFT AUTO SALES 1304 OLD ROCK CITY ROAD, OLEAN NY 14760 716-372-7764 IF YOU DO YOU WILL END UP GETTING SCREWED!!! I have filed a complaint with the BBB and will be filing one with the Attorney Generals office. I will also be taking him to small claims court asap! Crook, crook, crook, crook!
