Ammco Transmitions
False advertising, Hidden costs, I asked for old parts-they said they threw them away

My car wouldn"t start so I was looking at Yellow Page ads when I came across an advertisment that said—FREE TOW— with repair work. So I called AMMCO TRANSMITION and spoke with a man named Tom. He told me that Ammco would TOW my car —EL - CHEAPO—free of charge. Have you ever heard of the old saying "When something is to good to be TRUE it usually IS?

When I arrived to see Tom he informed me that he would need a $100 deposit to cover the tow and the donostics and this would go towards the REPAIR BILL. Right then and there I felt like there was more to meet the eye about this place. Anyway, long story short, Tom informed me that after a dognostics test I would need a STARTER IGNITION MODULE. This part was $179 and the labor was going to be around $300 & But what could I do —He had me & and he knew it. I told him to fix it.

When the day came to pick my car up I told Tom that I would like to see the OLD starter module. He went back into the shop. When he came back he said " We threw that away ALREADY ". I was thinking " Sure you Did! I payed the bill and THREE days later my car shut down completley. I had just bought a new battery so I knew that wasn"t the problem. Guess what? I took it to AUTO ZONE and they informed me that my ALTERNATER was SHOT. I was so mad I was seeing STARS! After spending another $160 for an alternater and $50 labor to put it on&MY CAR RUNS LIKE A TOPP!

I went and saw Tom today and asked if they har REALLY put my car through a donostics test—why they didn"t know about my BAD alternater. He got quite upset when I told him I had been to the Toyota Dealership and they said that labor to replace a ignition module would run about less than $50. He told me there would be know refund even after I told him that I had been to the DMV office in North Carolina. I asked if he couldn't supply the part COULD HE SUPPLY THE outstanding bill from the PLACE he got the new STARTER IGNITION MODULE. He told me to get out of his building. What can I do? Any help would be apreciated.

Since this has occurered I noticed That AMMCO has a BAD REP in more states than you can count on ONE HAND. Taught me a lessen though&RESEARCH a place of business before you enter a contract. Jim
