Okay, now we all know that the economy has tanked, that is obvious. Some people are having troubles keeping up and staying afloat, what a concept. And then, you have this scum bag company out here who is attached to the TITANIC (aka sinking ship) GMAC/GM that feels the need to call you 30 times per day, on the hour every hour, or every 10 minutes, take your choice since it changes daily.
I have been in finance, sales, and insurance for over 10 years, and have been dealt a horrible hand in all this economy just like many others and wound up getting stuck with this company because I had 1 mark on my credit report at the time of finance 2 years ago. It was fresh, so that was the problem. Anyway, having been out of constant work for a year plus now, these idiots feel it necessary to call the day after a payment is due if it isn't reflected in their system. Mind you, I pay on their website, which doesn't reflect the payment taking place for an average of 4 days after you make it, and they (the lab rats forced to call) can't see it.
I have been dealing with this now for just under 2 years with them. My issues started with the dealer promising a 45 day out first payment, when in actuality it was 30 which set off the due date to the wrong time. Then, Nuvell required a letter in writing to adjust the due date, which in all my years in the industry was a first for me hearing you MUST put it in writing for them. So I just figured screw it, I have a 10 days grace prior to a late fee even though it was simple interest and I would still accrue charges there. They started immediately calling and beating me up, or at least they thought they were beating me up. I told them to not call until I exceed the 10 days grace and then it would be warranted. Do you think that mattered? NO! They call every 10 minutes some days, every hour other days, or a combo. What got me was when I advised them the phone they constantly call was my business phone and to stop, it only got worse, which is a direct violation of the law! Not only did they call MORE, they call now at 6am PST on the weekends too! I have the voicemails stored and also put on a cd to turn over to the state attorney general and the Federal Trade Commission as soon as I can get them to listen.
Funny thing is, I have worked in a semi-collection type environment, and this line of tactic just doesn't work. I really get irritated when the foreign people call that you can't communicate with because of difficulties in understanding them and their lack of understanding of us, and then the southerners who feel it necessary to try and demean you and talk you down. If you let it bother you and expose this, they act like vicious dogs and jump on you worse, or, you can do like I do and roll it back on them. Being in this industry for so long, you can develop some quick wit and one hell of a sharp tongue while being in line 100%
Anyone who is having these constant troubles with this company need to keep a log of all days and times of the calls, contact the FTC (Federal Trade Commission), file a report, and approach your state's attorney general's office. Also, there is a form/letter you can mail to them called a Cease Communications Letter which you fill out, mail certified or with signature proof of receipt (fedex/ups), and they MUST only contact you in writing. If they violate this, they can be punished and fined heavily.
I hope in all honesty, that they sink with GMAC, and our government doesn't divvy out one more cent to the parent, GM/GMAC and let them sink in their own creations. We as a public need to take back our country from these greedy CEO's and corporations and get back to basics, our PEOPLE! There needs to be stiff punishments for companies like this who constantly barrage people with harassing calls at all hours of the day/night when they are less than 10 days past the due date because their system is slow.
