Went to Lonestar Mitsubishi on Sat 6 Dec looking for my son a car for Christmas. Meet with sales staff and internet manager. Asked for Mitsubishi Lancer DE that was a ad car. They said they would sale me that model car at the ad price. Plus $2000 for adding A/C. We agreed on a walkout price of 12,495 with TT&L. It was running late and had a Christmas Party to attend and they said no problem to be back on Tuesday (my day off) and sign the paperwork. Returned on Tuesday with son to make sure what he wanted - was advised they had 3 different colors that they could do that price at by salesman - white, black and red. Son wanted red - saleman brought red car up and wrote up paperwork - then came back and said that red was not available due to prior damage. Was getting late and my son was disappointed because he had decided on that color. So I asked if I could take 24 hrs to think over - Saleman said fine. When I left I contacted their sister dealership asking if they had the same deal in red or silver - they contacted me the next day to say no. So I contacted Lonestar again that morning and said I will take the white and I will come down and sign paperwork at lunch if possible - They said OK will have paperwork ready to sign when I get there. Unable to make at lunch due to work yet got off early to go. Called again before I left - They said " Great - come on down will have paperwork ready" - I drove across town to sign deal that I thought was done - have check in hand. Got here and internet manager stated that he is now unable to do the agreed deal - because his boss had heard that I contacted his siter dealer to ask for the car. I said I was just looking for the red that at one time they said they had. They wanted to sell at another $2000 increase in price. My biggest complaint is how that at anytime on the phone or when I left without purchasing they could have refused the deal - yet they said everything was good prior to me driving all the way there - before they changed the deal. I also want to note they are still advertising the same deal and their sister dealership - But will refuse to sell the car without you purchasing a 1500 car protection plan. The salesmanger was a nice guy - I just think it is pretty bad that management won't stand by a deal that was made - Let's me know how they view honesty and integrity in their business. I'm not saying don't buy from these guy's - Just beware and make sure to have the manager sign the deal - I'm still willing to try to work the issue with them - I just think they should stand by their Advertised prices with trying to force buyer into purchasing add-ons that they don't work. Hope I can find that gift that my son is looking foward too.
