In March as a member of a deployed military team, I found myself in need of clutch repairs in Fairview, Illinois. Trusting the AAMCO quality name, and recognizing the number of national locations, I allowed the Louis Service Corporation, an AAMCO franchise to service my truck.
After determining the Slave Cylinder had gone out, the mechanic suggested the Master Cylinder, and Clutch be repaired while the transmission was out. After a grand total of $919.00 the truck would not go into gear in the parking lot. 3 days later the truck was said to be in working order.
The truck has since had difficulty shifting, and finally just went to crap. Unfortunately I am back home on Colorado and the Fairview AAMCO says tough luck! After speaking to the owner Tammy, I was informed that the parts and labor are out of warranty so there is nothing they were willing to help with. I asked if the parts typically went out every 90 days, and she said only if they put in a defective part!
I have called the corporate offices to see if I can get some help, but they have a snow day today! I am a single mother with only one vehicle, which is broken down 60 miles from home thanks to Fairview's shody repair job, and no one will even try to help me until tomorrow.
Never never never go to aamco!!!
