I had autu insurance for about a month back in late which I cancelled after about a month, when I found a better deal.

Firdt off, it took the pleasant old man in the Columbus -Route 161 office over an hour to type up an application.

When I cancelled, I was in Nevada, and by the time I got back to Columbus, the refund check had expired.

Then it took plone calls, a couple to both to the Columbus branch and the Newark, OH main office. Sometimes I'd spend 3 minutes telling about my problem, only to be told I was speaking to the wrong person.

Each call, I had to start over -no records of previous calls.

Finally, after a few weeks, I get a check at my new Nevada residence in April which I had to wait 10 days to clear the bank. There was a local office just down the street here, but they could not issue a check. Their computers are not set up that way...

Only One other problem... The check refubd was for only One of my cars! About one third of what I was owed!

Start all over with calls back and forth to both Ohio offices. One check sent to wrong Nevada address (remember, in April they had theRight Address, wrong Amount.)

Another check then sent to old Columbus address, a lady on the phone convinces me to have it stopped. OK I do. The Next Day it arrives in Nevada, but it's No Good, of course...

Finally, in late June, over 6 months since Cancellation the check arrives and is cashed.

End of story? Nope July, August, September, October...

November 11 I notice a Replacement / Document is presented to my Fidelity Account for $1241.53 and doesn't clear - the money happens to be waiting for a stock transaction to clear.

I can't get info about the check details on the internet so I call Fidelity. The representative looks up the scan of the 'check'. And tells me it was written to State Farm. Other details, except for the date... It's November 7, but he CAN'T make out the year!

So call local Nevada State Farm to get 800 number (since, it's Not in my phonebook!), takes a minute since East has a diff number, ohhhh they doin't even know it!

Look on internet, Rt 61 office is closed, call Morse Road, explain my problem for a minute... Sorry, must call Newark!

OK Newark, talk to operator, then a representative (I don't have my account number with me, but from my Columbus address, she figures it out. And finds my long account history - NO CLAIMS, MIND YOU - just about 8 phone calls about refunds.

Yes, she finds the refunds sent to me. But can find Nothing about the current check. I ask, "Could the oringinal have bounced a YEAR AGo? She doesn't think so.

She says she's done everything she could do - and gives me the number of a "very smart lady who can solve all problems"

So I call, this lady is also in the Newark, Oh office, asks my acct number, which I Never got from the other lady, asks her name, which I couldn't remember.

After a few minutes she gave up and said she would call back. It. S been about 5 hours... Not yet... (total of 40 minutes on cell, would be long distance otherwise...)
