Warranty Service
How I got the stupid telemarketer back. Unknown He said California, but I have no proof

After calling my 3 daughters relentlessly on their new ATT cell phones, my wife, and myself at work and home, I finally got tired of the recorded warning that my car warranty was about to expire. (I do in fact have a car warranty about to expire, but I doubt they actually know that).

I played along with one guy (the indian sounding fella) and got rough with him about calling my 12 year old daughter and he hung on me, only telling me he was calling from California. I tried the number that came up, and it was listed as out of service.

They made the mistake of calling me again at home, so I decided to play along and see how far I would have to go to get any real information on these guys. When a woman finally came to the phone (seriously was on hold for 23 minutes) I was curtly asked the vehicle make and model. I told her it was a 1992 Dodge Ram pickup, and she asked me was it a 150,250 or 350. Since I was making it up anyway, I said 250. But was somewhat taken aback that she knew that much, she obviously had a vehicle database she was using. I then asked her the name of the company providing the warranty. She said it was Warranty Service.

I said I thought that was a strange generic sounding name, and asked if there was a number where I could call her back, as my cordless phone was about to die from being on hold so long. She hesitated, and offered to call me right back. I asked if she would like my name. She said yes, so I slowly pronounced the following First name: Ima (pronounced EEMA) and the last name: Sh*thead (pronounced shith-eed) and proceeded to give her the non-emergency number to the local police dept. If she didn't catch it right then, I can only hope she wrote it down after she mistakenly called the cops and asked for Mr. Sh*thead.

I hope she has a nice day. I also hope they have a better tracing system than I do.

They have terrorized my 12 year old twin daughters, clogged my answering machine at home, and disrupted my work. I have NO idea how they were able to obtain brand new ATT cell numbers, but that seems to be the only common factor. Maybe someone at ATT is selling these numbers. I have brand new job and no one knows that number, and it is not listed, yet I recieved 2 calls on that number. The calls to all the numbers started after purchasing 4 new cell phones at ATT. Hmmmmm.
